Introduction

Scientific Career
After completing his studies, Dr. Kalam joined the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and later the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
He played a vital role in India’s Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III) project, which successfully deployed the Rohini Satellite in 1980. This achievement made India a member of the space club.
Dr. Kalam also contributed significantly to India’s missile development programs, including Agni and Prithvi missiles. Because of these contributions, he was called the “Missile Man of India.”
He was also a key figure in India’s 1998 nuclear tests at Pokhran, which made the country a nuclear power.
As the President of India
Dr. Kalam served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. He was often referred to as the “People’s President” because of his simplicity, honesty, and love for the youth.
